The Story of Mythodreas


Mythodreas - land of legend, isle of dreams - where myth becomes reality and, sometimes, reality becomes myth. A realm favored by Gods and Goddesses, where they roam among mortal and mystic. For even the Gods have dreams and it has been said that many of its creatures, beings, flora and fauna are the products of those dreams. To the East, West, North and South stand four majestic, sacred trees, each turned to greet the morning sun. Some say that in a reversal of natural order, the Gods planted the sacred seeds among the clouds and that the land, nurtured by the Goddesses, grew up all around them.


Rowan’s Thorne entices with its welcoming cottages and shops. Its legendary Unicorn is of the palest blue and like the sky it mimics, brought forth a rainbow herd of offspring. The Thorne is a hale and hearty place, where wonders never cease and Fae dance in the sparkling moonlight. To be pricked by the thorn of the Hawthorne Tree will bring great fortune and nary a drop of blood.


Sprites and nymphs abound in Wandering Oak - its sacred Tree glistens with the flutter of their wings as they beat about enormous leaves that remain vibrantly green in all seasons. Imposing forest deities rove the countryside among all manner of fabled and factual animals. You may spy a Kitsune or Roebuck leaping over a mossy log or come face to face with a mighty Chimera if you choose to wander through.


In the center of Willow’s Weep an ethereal Willow bows her head in solemn grace, her shroud of cascading foliage billowing as Greater Dragons fly overhead. Here knights ride under an incandescent sky. Wizards skulk and practice their secret magic far below in the deepest reaches of the Grand Castle. The streams are said to be made up of tears, and they collect the sorrows of all the lands before flowing out into the mists of time.


The fourth revered Tree is sister to the Weeps’. Like her melancholy relative, the Tree of Whispering Willow Glen is quite stately and reserved, but hers is a gentle stoicism. Not much is known about her except for the legend that her branches were the birthplace of the Willow of the Wisp. A traveler who stops among the ferns and lilies will hear a chiming song…a whispered promise of amazing things to come…
